This a prequel for the series Misfit Protection Program. Jolene was denied clearance for the FBI. Jolene is very mad about that and wants to get to the bottom of why. Jolene decides to return to her hometown of Whisper’s Hollow. There, things get a little confusing for me. The book is listed as paranormal but other than some animals that don’t shift, I have no idea what is paranormal in this book yet. Also, Jolene is all over the place in this book. The writing is just a little scattered, for me. What I did like, Jolene is very funny and witty. Jolene collects men like nobody’s business and gives them funny names. I also thought it was funny every animal Jolene met she fed meatballs too. I think there is potential but because this is shorter I didn’t understand everything.
