The few complaints I have I’ll save for Goodreads. This review is for the world building and Joel’s talent alone. Every time I don’t think Joel can get any better, he proves me wrong. Not only is this about aliens and humans with a language barrier, there are A LOT of characters and voices. And every single one of them are distinct and unique to the character. And done so so brilliantly. These characters, by the end of this book, are beloved to the listener. So much so I don’t think I would have been able to read it the same way. Another hit from Joel.
