‘Charmer’ was the intricately told true story of George Russell, Jr., from childhood through to his incarceration as a serial killer. Russell endured rejection from everyone who was supposed to love him as a child, even his own mother. This rejection seemed to foster in him a hatred of all women that later manifested itself as a murderous rage that resulted in the deaths of many. A sociopathic charmer, Russell was capable of duping everyone in his life, including his family, friends and partners.
This story is expertly told by Jack Olsen, a master in the true crime genre. Additionally, narration by Keven Pierce is always truly fantastic – I would listen to absolutely anything narrated by him! I would recommend this book to anyone at all who enjoys true crime, it’s a really good one.
