Volume three, or four depending who’s counting, begins with the military protecting an oil refinery from the hoard. D-Day and Carmen join up with Danny’s crew while Danny, Elaine, and Naomi spend several days escaping from under a mountain. The Puckett-Montero feud is coming to a head. The zombies take a back seat to the feud but it’s an interesting development and keeps the tension growing. There are the usual situations between military-civilian, civilian-raiders, and zombie-everyone. Friendship, love, sacrifice, violence, betrayal, all good stuff. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
