When this book started, I honestly thought the overblown writing and hackney narration was a literary device, where a main character was watching a poorly written movie – that would transition to the actual story, where the protagonist’s reaction to the melodramatic and cliché performance would give us insight into his / her character.

After it went on and on, I started skipping chapters, thinking “This can’t be for real…” Sadly, it was.

The characters in this book are more like the satirical characters in Futurama or a similar show, except apparently this is the actual writing with zero attempt at irony. I seriously find it hard to believe a publisher agreed to produce this.
