I bought this so I’d have weeks worth of falling asleep audiobooks.
But honestly it’s an awful series. The biggest problem I think most people will have with it is that it’s not grounded at all! They treat magic like a joke instead of trying to make seem like it could be a real thing. What type of magic? This is in line with frog princes. Yeh no joke straight up turning people into animals nonsense. Where the conservation of mass?
Authors quite often choose a set of rules to abide by. These rules might not be realistic per se but the idea is that they are trying to ground the story. Turn it into something you could pretend to believe.
This series just lets anything happen period. There is absolutely nothing that can’t be done. Anything to move the plot forward no matter how far fetched it is. Even the learning of magic is a joke. This is not Dresden Files meets Star Wars which would have been a great series if it was.
It’s lazy writing at best!
