I tried to like this book. It’s not horrible, I could probably make myself listen to the rest of it (I forced myself to give it a chance and listened to a third of it), but I just can’t seem to pay attention. My brain wanders, and when I come back to focus, I really haven’t missed that much. They villain is a rapist, they are watching him, there’s a traumatic past… It’s too long and drawn out as well as being all over the place (to me). The voice actor is only okay as well. He ends every sentence with a growl of intensity. I think if she closed the door to a room, it doesn’t need to be so intense. One more thing is the author only uses “he said” or “she said” at the end of nearly every bit of dialogue – even if a question is being asked. It got a bit redundant for me to hear “he said” with a growl if it was at the end of the sentence. I’m not normally a person to complain – and I don’t mean it as such, but I just wanted to tell why I didn’t rate it like I normally rate books and voice actors. I wish I could return for my money back and choose another book.
