He was an accomplished wizard who devoted his life to discovering the arcane arts. He came to agreements with the kingdoms of the world and they left him alone. He discovered all kinds of secrets on the Earth and heaven. During one of his research sessions, he leveled up and reached the maximum level. He couldn’t believe there was a cap to the level. What was the point of experimenting to gain experience?
The years that followed, he continued to research immortality. He defeated civilizations and magnificent beasts… to create reagents to make more magical items. He had truly become immortal and created an undead army that could conquer anyone else. He didn’t want to just rule, why would he want to do that…it was way too much work.
He started taking out the gods and their celestial palaces. They cried for mercy but none was given. He then watched over the land, he was 1000 years old and no one could stand against him. Yet still, his level was Max. He decided that by killing death, maybe he would take a rest and sleep. He would be able to wake up and see the advancements in society and start anew. But somehow, someone came into his crypt and woke him. Well, his guest didn’t last more than a few seconds, but his mind and body could not go back to sleep. He needed to see the advancements, the changes in the world, so he would venture out and explore. And so it begins..
JTJ does a great job narrating the book and I love the cackling showing how someone who had lived that long may not be entirely sane.
