Like many reviewers, I don’t get where all the 5 star reviews come from. the story was lackluster at best. the character’s backstory was crap, and the magic system almost non-existent. there is a reason that most litrpg writers don’t stick with the dnd spell limitations (i.e. only so many spells per day), because it makes for a boring story. there just wasn’t anything in this book that grabbed my attention. I oftentimes found myself rewinding 30+ minutes because my thoughts kept drifting away from the book, which is the exact opposite of why I listen.
