Kinda seems like a first book or series. It’s missing something. The story almost feels rushed in a way, or that editing might have removed too much. Scene transitions are too abrupt in a way, maybe? Overall it is also a little anticlimactic but that might be the voice actor/narrator. The ending is abrupt and unsatisfying.

The performance is just, meh. Seemed like they were struggling with a slight speech impediment or had just a tiny bit of gauze in their mouth, like chewing on cheeks. The narrator doesn’t change pace well to fit the scene, nor do they have great emotional range. The slow pace of the narration might be purposeful though, since the book seems rushed, the audio might be an attempt to slow things down.
