I like these type of books. The survival after an EMP pulse or solar flare. The preppers are pretty much all the same, but this book portrayed the MC as not being to prepared, the average guy who gets caught up in the end result. So, it is a survival book but as usual all the survivors turn out to these right wing Christian types. “I will shoot and kill you if you don’t leave” types, but you can leave, unlike the “bad guys” who just kill you first.

The disappointing part comes towards the end when this book turns into a soap opera. Woman throwing themselves at out hero, others playing hard to get, the last part of the book is your basic survival people finding each other, the word “love” is even mentioned, but only after a few choice encounters…. it turns into a crappy love story.
