This is one of those stories with a character that becomes better as the books move on. Without giving too much away the main character starts very very low intelligence and becomes far more. If you do not give it time you do not move beyond the childish nature it is implicit in what the character is. However it is very interesting well written and for me the crude humor was a bit much but diminishes as the books move on. You will need to be able to tolerate you juvenile sexual humor for a bit.
