Don’t expect another “Viper pilot”.
This book is a diary type of memoire in which you get to hear not only high adrenaline parts of war time air combat, but also about days when little to nothing happens due to weather or technical issues. It also tells about time after war ends and before squadron moves back home.
Book starts slow, as you would expect in day-by-day diary type entries.
There’s unexpected personal part about a girl that really gives this book very personal, sincere and touch. You don’t expect that in a fighter pilot’s diary, but really it’s most humane thing to expect even in wartime.
It was worth the listen.
