For some reason, I have grown to enjoy apocalyptic, dystopian stories. This one is different from others in the genre: it appears to be from a Christian point of view, but not the usual kind in that category. Not the end of days, nor premillenial. Although very different, I suspect that if you enjoyed the Cheveis Trilogy by Bryan Litfin, you will enjoy this too.
The series has enough violence and to spare, but in the first 3 books, no crude language or swearing. It is refreshing to know that one can write a good story without littering the dialogue with crudity, blasphemy and a demonstration of a limited vocabulary.
The narrators occasionally mispronounce words – jarringly so – but not, I’m glad to say, often enough to spoil the story.
As to the rest of the series? I’m impressed enough to carry on. There are several books in the series – if memory serves, about 11.
