I found the twinborn idea to be an interesting and fresh idea, creating a new way to include intrigues into a magic and blades fantasy story. with the length of this collection together, we get to see and learn quite a bit about the world and see the major characters develop. The major characters are not simple either, they are flawed beings who can become more or less likeable based on their actions. I have to admit, I did feel like the plot started to drag for a good part of the last volume. A good many things were already set and progress was delayed only by characters seeming to not get the very obvious next steps or just put off taking action. Overall though, this was an enjoyable listen.

Narration was well done. MN has good pacing, enough range to know who is speaking, and conveys enough emotion to keep listeners engaged.
