This is the fifth book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. I am enjoying the characters in this world that several series he has written is based upon. This book also has a plethora of different alien species. Detective Knowles put his life on the line to try and uncover what a large crime syndicate is up to. His superior, Lieutenant McDade, understands this, yet asks him to go even deeper into a hornets nest. In doing so he crosses paths with Detective Kalaka, who is not exactly an altruistic officer. Their paths cross more than once as they try to stay alive and uncover the truth.
This is the thirteenth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew Wehrlen) and I would listen to another. He differentiates all the characters and his female voices sound natural. He suits this style of book well- tough guy, take no sh!t attitude.
There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence. There is some swearing.
