I did like the setup of this book. Rather being a player who’s sucked into his favorite game Lee is shanghai’d by his many generations removed great grandfather, who just happens to be a God of Alcohol and told he must help him find followers or else. Lee is certainly a fish out of water as a office drone with no social life other than his own favorite game. He meets Miller (who is absolutely insane) and who becomes his first Paladin, and a possible girl friend, whose cat hates him. The only way home is to earn more followers but the catch is its only a temporary home vacation, as he must return to continue his quest. He questions faith as he doesnt believe in the God of Alcohol, and he questions all faith in light of what he experiences. Its a funny book, lots of misadventures and a lot of overkill (courtesy of Miller). I do look forward to see what comes next.
