This one starts out a bit slow, but stick with it. It focuses more on one person’s life, Dee, although the others in this murder for hire scheme are given their due as well. I do agree with another reviewer who felt more attention could have been given to the victims and their lives.
There is a heartbreaking element about Dee’s life, caught up in the firm grip of alcohol, which certainly played a role in her involvement in the crimes. The tale takes us behind the scenes at an IHOP near Miami in the 1980s, where Dee and Allan worked, while hatching their plots of murder and grand theft. It’s hard to stop listening once you get involved in the plot. Great narration by Kevin Pierce, as usual.
