I really enjoyed the story line of this book and the realness of the lives of children growing up in neglectful or abusive homes. I was however bothered by how young Wavy was when sexually active and that line of the story. However, that also challenges out status quo and is again, realistic to the lives of children growing up in similar environments. I wish we would have seen Wavy grow up more and lose the emphasis on how silent and reserved she was.
