Very familiar with the japanese style rpg fantasy novel genre, wherein the characters are aware of their own hp, levelling up, etc… this is by far not the BEST example of such, but it is pretty decent, though the tone is a bit uneven – it veers a little too graphically into the sexual component of the story to be a lighthearted romp, while also not going full blown hentai/softcore with it. Basically, lot of potential there, especially with this antihero’s lack of awareness/understanding… but if you’re not going to go for that, why not just leave it out entirely and be a little more family-friendly?

The comedy aspect is a little more solid, but it falls a little flat at times too, especially with all the mechanics of levelling up and explaning new skills, etc.

The action is about average for a series like this, and because of the character mix, there are still a bunch of nice surprises in how things unfold.

Definitely enough of a good start to make me want to read more, but as powerful as the main character becomes in the first volume, I don’t hold out a ton of hope for this being a terribly LONG series, though, you never know!
