The narrator for this book was pretty good. Nothing outstanding about the performance but there was also nothing wrong which is more important. Could tell the difference in characters and he had good enunciation. His voice also fit the setting of the story well.
This is a blackout survival story where the main character has military experience but isn’t a prepper. He has family to take care of and is on a mission to keep them safe. He has a very pragmatic attitude in response to his new situation and is able to adapt and do what needs to be done. I personally really appreciate characters like this who don’t act irrationally even though they know the situation they are now in. Despite my rating of the story it was actually pretty good up until it ended. I was actually just getting ready for the story to actually get going. I do prefer longer books so that may account for some of it but most of what happened in the first book I already assumed would happen before it really got into the meat of the story. Based on the title I assumed there would be much more happening.
