The Legend of the Gods is a fun and interesting trilogy that captures and keeps your attention and does not let go. Mr. Hodges has developed an interesting world with a detailed recent history and bit of a different magic system. The characters are engaging and understandable, and the twists and revelations are not always what you expect. This audiobook is a good stand-alone listen, although it has an open enough end that the sequel series that does not feel like an attempt to unnaturally extend the story. This trilogy is the sequel to the Sword of Light trilogy, but does not require having read/listened to those stories to understand or enjoy.
