It is sort of like, there are lots of interesting ideas, setup, and vivid imagery right near the start. But, on top of the mc being unable to make good decisions, it felt like an interesting story was traded for something very average right near the start of the story. I only listened for a few chapters before it got that whole “things don’t make sense” feel… then I stopped.
