I was expecting just another post apocalyptic story but I was greatly mistaken. The publisher’s summary only hints at what this story is really about and I was pleasantly surprised! The plot picks up quickly and keeps an exciting pace throughout. Both of the main character’s perspectives are interesting and show a different viewpoint of the same scenario while carefully bringing us towards the inevitable conclusion (which was definitely satisfying). My only caution is that this book does get quite intense, so if you’re looking for a calm post apocalyptic tale (hah!) this might not be for you. If you are looking for a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is the one for you!
Narration by both narrators exceeded all expectations. I am familiar with other works by Jeffrey Kafer (The Supervillainy Saga) and was not let down by his performance here. Great voicing, presentation, and character portrayal as usual! If you enjoy any of his previous narrations you will also enjoy this one. This is the first work I’ve heard from Heather Costa and I was also pleased with her performance which paired well with Jeffrey’s sections. She also did a superb job with character voicing and presentation. I did not once think that I wished one of the narrators had done the entire book! Overall, I would not hesitate to check out more works performed by either of this books narrators.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
