The author decided that introducing a “they/them” character made sense. I’m out, I know this is just generic power fantasy and the writing wasn’t exactly masterclass up till this point… but really, fantasy is supposed to be about exploring reality in different settings, not delusions.
Also, I thought it was a bit off that the author had a huge emphasis on moral relativity, but yeah makes sense now.
