Of the five books I feel like this one was a bit faster paced and we got more action for this story than we did for each previous book. I felt it was nice we got to see a bit more of the bigger picture in this book about the other worlds and what is going on their as well as a wider understanding of this world and were the Blackflame Empire was in it. Plus I felt Yerin? Linden’s friend got some more character development where we learned the origin of her parasite and her history with it. If you want a cultivator or xanxia story where the protagonist doesn’t become as corrupt as his enemies so far this is the series to read or listen to.
