How do you make an awesome book? Start in the middle, make it seem like the end, use the recap to introduce a new character and selectively skip forward in places, then add another book’s worth of content after that to double the size. Make sure to squeeze in not one but two epic battles and dozens of incredible new magical monstrosities. Finally, cap it off with one of the avatars exploding, and create new alliances in both worlds, just to further the intrigue and leaving the listener wanting more.
I love how complex and fluid these books have become. Mr. Bagwell and Mr. Stifel have come together again and the the result was both impressive and satisfying. I can’t wait for the next one. It feels like we’re getting ever closer to learning what Alfred’s real goals are.
