Nothing like a book full of faux reviews to make a reader need to write one of their own.

This book was a genuine surprise. And the cause of my current sleep deprivation because I couldn’t stop listening last night.

This book’s premise was a lot different than what I’m used to in the mm genre, but after I got through the first six chapters or so, it was excellent. It brought back memories of the Amazon forums years ago when it was littered with indie authors pushing their books in and behaving badly in general. As other reviews have said, the authors did an excellent job of making these characters completely unlikeable in the beginning of this book, which honestly is a big part of what kept me reading – could they pull off these jerk characters throughout a full novel?

Happily, thanks to their writing talent and the phenomenal narration of Joel, the authors did manage to keep the MCs stay in character but have personal growth as we got to know them and their backstories as the plot went on.

Now to decide if I should start listening to Lloyd’s book or call in sick to catch up on my sleep….
