This is not a story rooted in science. It is not an unpredictable plot that keeps you guessing. It is not a grand space opera with dashing heroes, sweeping action and insightful storytelling. It does have good character interaction, clever banter, and a great narrator.

If you don’t mind a really silly plot point (really…a giant humanoid mech, in space, and built by non-humanoids?), trite and well-worn bad guy stereotypes, and either don’t know the difference between damping and dampening or don’t care, you might just like this one. If you’ve listened to Jeffrey Kafer before, you already know what he adds to every book he narrates, and is probably why you’re considering this book.

It’s a fun story and mostly well-paced. Nothing boring or drawn out. Give it a go.
