I only made it about four chapters into the story
At that point you’ve already had four flashbacks and two crisis of conscience and an inner monologue of a character crushed by feelings of inadequacy and shame For Events he had no control over or situations beyond his control

Not really a science-fiction story more like moral posturing disguised in a science-fiction story
