I like the premise of the book with the idea of the MC being combined with a monster but in this book, there were so many missed opportunities to make this a great book all too often many writers get caught up in unnecessary conversations with side characters and add useless details about things that don’t move the story forward in any useful way and the writer takes too long to get to the point and all he does is drag things out and I find that kind of writing to throw off the entire pacing of the book which immediately pulls the reader out of the story and does nothing but causes frustration to the listener…and I must ask at what point in the book will the MC become a bad-ass and stop being such a snowflake…example like when he’s in the dungan knowing people are there to bring harm to him what does he do??? warnes them of danger because it’s the right thing to do and in the middle of fights knowing people want to kill him he doesn’t think it’s right to kill them if they surrender…I’m going to return this book because I just can’t finish with such a weak MC.
