If people acted as dumb they’d never survive

The set up, story line, plot action, and some details had potential. If characters didn’t make some poor decisions a book would not have dramatic interest. But when almost all of the characters make really dumb, unrealistic mistakes over and over and over, the book becomes not only unbelieveable but really annoying. These characters wouldn’t last in any setting.
