I purchased the book for $7.41 on sale and read the reviews but was terribly disappointed. I read almost exclusively post apocalyptic stories. Overall, I have enjoyed the genre tremendously. So when I say I could not finish it. This is not because of the genre. The stories characters were stereotypical and there was a hard line of good and bad with no opportunity for deviation and redemption. I rarely leave an audible unfinished. Usually there’s something in the story that I want to find out more about. But I realized that my favorite pastime, listening to audible, was being ruined as I avoided listening because I was so disliked the story. When the main characters and acted mass murder on a group of individuals because of the way they were stereotyping them I had to give up. I will not be finishing the story and I cannot recommend it to anyone. I do not know how the story got 4.6 positive positive reviews if you’re interested in post apocalyptic fiction. There are great authors in this genre, including Sarah Lyons Fleming, Kyla Stone, Jacqueline Druga, Christopher Artinian, Camille Picott, Brad Manuel, Chris Philbrook, Nicholas Sansbury Smith and so many more. I sadly have to give this story a thumbs down.
