As a fan of the 5-star e-book, I jumped at experiencing this sweet Daddy/boy story in audio and enjoyed every minute. Narrator Piers Ryman delivers an engaging performance, bringing the proper range of emotions for the material and distinct voices that further drives home that these are British characters.
A Cuffd app-sponsored Destinations getaway brings together struggling military vet Jude and bubbly boy Kasper for a week in snowy Austria. There is no insta-love here and neither are under any illusions they’ll meet Mr. Right, but they’re very open to whatever may or may not happen on their k¡nky holiday.
I’d been hoping for Jude’s own HEA story since he was introduced in his best friend Ben’s story (“His Boy to Cherish”), and his sweet hurt/comfort romance with Kasper didn’t disappoint. Jude’s swagger and brashness is a mask to hide his own loneliness, insecurities, and ongoing struggle with PTSD, the depth of which isn’t sugarcoated, and Kasper’s support and understanding was the balm he’d never found in a romantic partner before.
Jude and Kasper’s amusing and breezy banter was just the right blend of playful, c0cky and sweet, and I was eating it up. Their relationship builds up quickly, of course, but it also felt refreshingly organic and natural. There’s also an exploratory element to it, as Dom Jude comes to realize and fully embrace he’s a Daddy.
This was just the sweet, steamy and cheeky HEA read/listen I needed, and I highly recommend it. I received a free review copy of this audio book (and the e-book previously) and have left this honest review voluntarily.
