I’d suggest reading it.

I try not to be overly harsh, but it’s true about the narrator. His voices to depict females are atrocious. If women truly sounded that bad (grating, annoying, old, slow, garbled) in real life I would have no friends since I’d be unable to bear the presence of women with voices like that. It definitely takes away from the overall story. I’d just read it if I could do it over.
