To start, the plot was shallow and the characters were not developed very well. I expect some cheesiness in realistic fiction/modern romance, but this one had me rolling my eyes constantly with the dialogue and extreme unlikelihood of events. The male narrator had the tone and cadence of a news reporter, and the author had Corbin using the endearment “baby girl” wayyyy too much. I almost stopped listening a couple chapters in, but hung into see if it got better. I just had ick vibes all through this one. The only thing that kept me in was the spice, which is why I’m rating this a 3 and not a 1 star. I would use your credit elsewhere if I were you.
