When I got this book, I was not expecting it to be so epic. I was not expecting it to be so good. I was NOT expecting it to be like CRACK! All I want to do is read this series now. Because they’re deceptively small, they pull you in fast and make you want to keep going, even when the book is done.

This story is about a boy who lives in a world where every child goes through a test that teaches him and her their paths, but this boy is not given a path. He goes through his childhood and teen years pitied and ridiculed for not being able to gain power past a child’s ability. But he desperately wants to bring honor to his family, so he continues to do what he can to try, despite his shortcomings.

Little does he know that the world isn’t what it seems and his people, whom he thought had all the knowledge of the world, do not know all their is to know. About him or about their world.
