This is one of the few audiobooks that I have had that I’ve really seriously considered wondering if there was a return policy for. The main character is thoroughly unlikable, and in her own words a self-described bitch for no good reason other than she is. She is contrary for no good reason she comments to her self that she’s acting horribly and then continues to do so. Time and again people who know better tell her that she should or shouldn’t do something and, unlike in a lot of books where the protagonist does or doesn’t do it and they win their way through from good judgment, luck, or just moxie, the bad thing always happens just as foretold . And yet she persists. The character rails at how certain people are treated by one faction and their gods. But then when a variation on that happens to her other than asking with a mildly perturbed tone what is going on, the character basically forgets that her entire personality was violated. I rarely say this about any book, but personally I would recommend people staying away from this book.
That said, the voice actors did their usual tremendous job with the poor material that they had and I am no way blame them for the train wreck that is this book.
