From the title, and the seriousness of the cover, I expected a dramatic enemy to lovers story.
Instead, I was laughing myself silly from the first paragraph! Narrator Austin Jay did a great job with the twangy southern accent of rural Alabama.
Add in the ridiculousness of a grown man snacking on Moon Pies, and the scene is set for the good ole boy construction worker.
Frankly, finding dinosaur fossils is pretty exciting. No wonder the local museum hired in professionals to handle the excavation. Add in a PR representative to facilitate information between the museum and the public, and there is the friction.
Who is watching out for the construction crew who have been banned from working the site? No one. So, they take matters into their own hands.
The beginning of the novel is truly amusing. So much so that when the angst and tension between the two factions rises, it’s almost harsh. Thank goodness for an author who loves to leave us with an HEA. Yes, I will be listening to this story again.
