I was eager to continue this series but found the transition from RC Bray to Jeffrey Kafer as the narrator quite jarring. Kafer’s narration style, as another review put it, is like that of a detective from the classic television show “Dragnet,” known for their monotone and no-nonsense delivery. It felt out of sync with the personalities of the characters and, for me, detracted from the story. It’s a shame, as I believe the novel itself had the makings of an exceptional addition to the series.
