I tried hard to love it but ….

I tried hard to love it but found myself forcing myself to listen and praying for the whining and insecurities to wean off. The female lead is not my cup of tea. Every word written about her was meant to be endearing but was so repetitive and weak it rubbed me the wrong way. I prefer strong female leads.

The saving grace: the book boyfriend here was top notch and the narrator was amazing. Loved the accents and emotion she used. I usually prefer alpha male leads but this character’s strengths were subtle and clear. He’s sure of himself, knows what he wants, isnt afraid to go for it nor express it, and loves with all his heart. Dreamy!

Unfortunately, the entire story is from the girl’s perspective which means a lot internal monologue from a weak character. It was tough for me to finish. Not thrilled with this use of a credit.
