I fell for reviews suggesting this book is for more than just fans of the genre. Yuck. It may be a masterpiece, but only for fans of the genre. It just goes on and on with fight after fight, weird creature after weird creature, and the rather depressing context of billions killed. I tried, but I feel like I wasted a credit.
