This book is amazing, one of my (ALL-TIME) favorites. I first read the book through KU. As soon as I finished it, I purchased my own copy that I thoroughly enjoy every single time I read it. I do not have as much time to sit and read now and I have wished on many occasions that this book was available on Audible. Sometimes, you just need a fix, ya know? NOW IT IS!!!! Thank you Lily White for adding this version!!!
If you like dark, twisted, bad boys, (Yes-Please) you will LOVE Ari! I fell in love with him immediately! He is a dark, intense, mouthwatering, OTT obsessed, all things alpha, stalker (a.k.a shadow)/assassin/sex-on-legs! This story is extremely well-written!!! (I heart Lily White) Ari & Adeline are well-developed and their deeper stories continue to build and unfold as the pages turn. Ari is a hired assassin and he is beyond obsessed with protecting Adeline after her father’s death leaves her alone on a very self-destructive path.
Although I prefer Duet narration, this dual narration performance was well done. Both narrators are new to me but they did a great job. I appreciate that the narrators portrayed the ages of the characters accurately for the story. Much of this story is told from Ari’s point of view. At times, he speaks directly to the reader. I loved this personalization when I read the book, but found it even more enjoyable when spoken.
When I grade a book, I consider:
Do I relate to & like the characters from start to finish? Check!
Is the story well-written and engaging from start to finish? Check!
Most importantly-Will I ever read this title again? CHECK!!! CHECK!!!
How many books have you purchased that would better serve as kindling? Yeah, me too! This one is a winner for me and now I can and will revisit Ari as often as I like, even when I’m up & about! So Many More Than Five Stars!!!!!!!
If you need fairy tales, go away. If you like dark & dirty, there’s no better way to spend your credit this month!!!
