First – the narrator is top notch like always. I actually picked the title because I love the narrator style.

The book – Some parts are really good, the story has it’s merit.

Unfortunately it completely lacks any credibility from a tactical standpoint, Completely nonsensical childish “tactics” of a statewide drug cartel and equally nonsensical actions from the main character – those puts the characters in limbo then the author has to invent a gimmick to “save them”.

Some battles are decent written – than some are pre school level.

At some time the characters have access to a wild west type of weaponry (horses, shotguns and revolvers), than swing to new technology ( like thermal scopes, suppressors, satellite phones, Hummers) and….back to revolvers and shotguns “because they are more abundant” than “assault rifles”.

The actions of the main and side characters have no credibility whatsoever. At some point you think they’re adults, than they say or do some childish action that’s out of character.

Almost like it was written by two people. One – the adult – had a decent story – until the 4 year old comes in to continue the story – than the adult have to invent something to fix the situation that the 4 year old put the characters in.

I’m going to exchange this.
