I loved this book from the very beginning! We’re introduced to Kyle as he receives his final grade… but all his hopes for life, and a career in tech, are dashed with the notification of his failure! His life is now forfeit, as society’s only use for those who fail, is as soldiers in the army, though the soldier’s body, is actually a construct into which a person’s consciousness has been downloaded! Basically, Kyle is thrust headlong into the ring and he has to start Swinging if he wants to survive! This is a really wonderful book… it’s as if Avatar, and a litRPG novel, were in a ménage à trois with an exciting Military Scifi story. When the story was over, I discovered that I wasn’t ready to stop listening! Luckily I’ve had assurances that this series has been completed and that Dawn Chapman will be releasing each consecutive book, every month! If the next 3 books are as strong as Winter Harvest is, we’re gonna’ be in for one hell of an adventure!
Neil Hellegers’ narration was awesome! He proved to be the ideal storyteller for this amazing audiobook!
