This one was hard for me to get into. I think the story was decent. That being said the writing wasn’t as good as I know Mary is capable of. Using the word “that” in place of “a”, “the”, “my”,etc really ground on me as the book progressed. At first I thought she was using it as an attempt to emphasize a midwestern accent in one of the characters, which was kinda lame, but okay I’d get it. However, all of her characters used the word “that” in inappropriate circumstances. And it wouldn’t be a bad thing if it wasn’t constant in the writing. Example: that baby, that bus, that toothbrush. Maybe she was doing it to try to make a point, but if that’s the case I missed it.

Not any major twists and turns in the book. But the story flowed well. So I’d call this an average read/listen.
