I loved the first book in the series and the second one. By the third I began to be suspicious that this would become a series with 79 books in it with the same things happening over and over. By the end of the fourth book, I’m convinced this will be a series with 79 books and the same things happening over and over. The bigger problem, however, is that by book four none of the characters are sympathetic anymore. The best thing that could happen to the humans and aliens of all varieties is for all of them to die. It’s now unbelievable that the surviving marines could survive at all and that the author believes we’re still willing to give the evil scientist the benefit of the doubt. Sorry, but enough already. Jeffrey Kafer is good, though.
