If I’m honest, the whole game mechanic was just hard to get into and for a game world, it was pretty dark with very little in the way of loot. Plus, the character interactions just didn’t seem genuine. There were also plenty of times when characters in a futuristic world just seemed far too modern day. And the backstory was a little weak as well. They were basically slaves but made to/allowed to play V/R games during downtime? I dunno about that. In all, could use a little work. Maybe don’t ignore so many of the details in the next book.
