Mixed feelings. I know this review is unhelpful and for that I am sorry. I am still trying to understand how I feel about these books myself. I absolutely enjoy the story as a whole. The premise of the story, writing, and narration are all 2 thumbs up. Something leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.

I think for me it’s the length of the listen that has my mind confused. I listen to many epic novels where one volume can be 20, 30, or even 40 hours plus and these feel bite-size and unfinished. Had the first two parts been in the same novel I would have nothing but praise for this set of works.

It’s as if the author took an epic novel and decided to break it down into 9-hour parts and call each a volume. The endings have felt more like the ending of a chapter and not the ending of a book. I can honestly say that had I not gotten this series free with my membership I would not be so positive with my review. I would not have wasted a credit for each of these books.
