I have been reading LitRPG/gamelit for six or seven years I guess, and I frequent the FB groups. Dawn is really active and accessible, I’ve spoken with her, but somehow never managed to pick up one of her books until now, and wow! I’m glad I finally did.

The MC has good progression, with a believable explanation for being OP, even though for this book his OP is more like situational advantage than outright over powered. The plot seems pretty solid, and well thought out, the characters have enough depth to be engaging, and the world building is good.

And there’s mechs.

I saw a review that complained about sex, this book does not have graphic sex scenes, just mentions that sex did happen. Lot’s of F bombs, so watch that around the small kiddos, but I didn’t mind them at all, I found them situationally appropriate. Overall I think it’s a very solid introduction to the series, and I look forward to exploring the universe.

I found the voice acting to be quite good. Neil has a great voice for gritty action that isn’t too rough or gravelly. It’s a good listen, you should give it a whirl.
